Distinctly Baptist

WKBDS meets every other Saturday for 4 hours.  We meet in the Fellowship Hall to allow refreshments during breaks.  There are 2 to 3 classes taught per semester.  Credit hours are determined by the number of classes and class time.  We take the duty of teaching very seriously and expect all students to accept the duty of learning as such. 

The majority of churches have forsaken the whole purpose and goal for which they were started.  The church is the pillar and ground of the truth.  The church is supposed to proclaim the truth of the Gospel and the truth of the Word of God.  The Lord gave that responsibility to no one else but His church.  The church is to train those called into the ministry, teach the Doctrines of the Word of God, and prepare Christians for Spiritual warfare.

Teaching 1st Century Doctrines in the 21st Century

                             Important truths about men

                             taught by Dr. Errol C. Fowler

dealing with how God has made man to function, men and women must both deal with these truths.

At the Western Kentucky Baptist Divinity School, we have developed our own curriculum to give a complete, quality, and a useful education for those in Christian service.  Many Bible colleges today are only in operation as money making ministries, church building ministries, and others just fail to give a practical Christian education.  We at WKBDS are here for the purpose of teaching true historic Baptist doctrine, training people to serve the Lord through the church, and equip people for the ministry in these Last Days.

We teach classes on individual books of the Bible.  These classes are taught exegetically and with emphasis placed on the reason that God inspired the book, the history behind the people, places, and circumstances in the book, the working of God revealed in the book and the doctrine contained within it.

We also teach classes dealing with theology.  This is the greatest need of today with the main compromise of churches today being in this area.  Some classes are focused on an individual doctrine, while others focus on systematic theology.  What we have to fight is that Protestant theology has infiltrated the Baptist church to the point that the average Baptist church member thinks, acts, and talks like a Protestant.

We offer beginner and advanced classes in Koine Greek.  Many preachers today brag of their ignorance of the language the New Testament was written in.  We offer practical lessons that will assist the serious student of God's Word in obtaining a more vast understanding and appreciation for the Word of God.  We are not trying to teach people to learn the language itself, but to use the readily available helps that much more intelligent men have compiled.

We teach Biblical Eschatology - the doctrine of the end times

We are definitely living in the last days, prophecy is being fulfilled all around us and the people of God should be able to recognize this.  Lu 21:28 "And when these things begin to come to pass then look up and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh"

We teach Historic Baptist Doctrine – 1^st century doctrines for the 21^st century.
